This anatomically correct human hand model is produced from pla plastic using a 3D printer. It uses 2.85 mm filament to hold bones together and move them. The filament allows some movement between bones, but excessive pressure or repeated movements can weaken and break the filament. This model is designed for display, study, or light use, but will not withstand rigorous classroom use. Every attempt has been made to maintain anatomical accuracy with the following exceptions. The pisiform bone was fused onto the triquetrum, and some ends of the distal and middle phalanges were slightly expanded to allow insertion of the filament.
